Verdant landscape, overgrown ruins, valleys, white and golden beaches, ruffling waves, magnificent wildlife and a lot more, make Sri Lanka an unexpected vacation destination. Wildlife Safari

Sri Lanka boasts of a varied flora and fauna and is included in the top biodiversity hotspots in the world. > Elephants, wild boars, leopards, red slender loris, purple faced langur are some of the species found in their natural habitat. > The vast ocean is also home to mighty blue whales and dolphins which make quite a site for tourists. > This rich diversity of animals are a treat to watch in national parks and sanctuaries like Pinnawala elephant orphanage, Yala National Park, Udawalawe National Park, Nuwara Eliya, Matale.

Beaches

The coastline is baked to perfection, making it ideal for all the beach bums around the world. > It offers a plethora of activities ranging from surfing, kayaking, diving to just lazing around getting a tan.
> Tangalla, Beruwala, Mirissa, Bentota are some of the popular southern beaches.
> Arugam bay, on the east coast is becoming a surfing hotspot and an old favourite continues to be Colombo and Negambo - also famed for lobster hunting.








Whale Watching

Embark from any of the coasts and watch the magnificent fish glide past you. The enthusiastic dolphins put up a show while the whales and humpbacks are more calm. > The ideal locations for whale watching are Dondra Point and Trincomalee and the dolphins are seen in abundance at Kalpitiya sea.

> Lanka Challenge - The rickshaw adventure is for those who love road trips and love to bring on their competitive sides. Each day a certain list of challenges would be given and you are to complete your journey in a rickshaw or a tuk tuk. To be held in September’17 first week. Quite a way to brag about a 1000 km road trip!

> Asia Pacific Choir Games (APCG) - The 4th edition of the games will be held in Colombo in the month of October, promising to turn Colombo into a choral music zone. Teams from all over the world would participate.
